Twin screw

Materials are filtered by a continuous screen changer with a fineness of 150 - 500 µm. Depending on the viscosity of the material, underwater pelletization yields granules between 2.4 and 4 mm.

The machine is specially designed for polyolefins. Four gravimetric weigh feeders are supplied with material via suction conveyor stations and bag chutes. These are located above a side feeder for (mineral) fillers and a weigher for pre-blends with several components. The materials are deaerated via two atmospheric extractors and a vacuum extractor.

Granulation under water

Co-kneader

Our Co-Kneader is working rotational and translational. With its extensive dosing possibilities - including injection of liquids - a high-performance compounding is guaranteed. High amounts of fillers can be incorporated in polymers in a very smooth and gentle way. Finally the under water pelletising completes the excellent result with a high output up to 700 kg/h.

Endless application possibilities

Discover the various potential applications of our compounds

Special applications
Melos also supplies a diversified portfolio of recycled thermoplastic materials. Agglomerates and ground stock from recycling processes are used as individual base materials and compounded to customers' specifications on a modern twin screw extruder producing granules for injection moulding.
Rail
Thanks to their good electrical properties and high thermal stability, engineering thermoplastics from Melos can be used for various applications in train and rail construction. Interior panelling and seat rests are just one example.
Automotive
Door handles, wing mirrors, etc.: High thermal stability and outstanding mechanical strength allow our engineering thermoplastics to be used for numerous possible applications in the automotive industry.
Profiled rubber
We supply a variety of high-grade compounds as the base material for extruding profiled rubber for diverse applications. Individual formulations are realized economically and as specified by the customer: Our production delivers what you need.
Garden furniture
Highly flexible, easily dyed, with outstanding thermoplastic processability: Our compounds are ideal for further processing and conversion, for example into variously coloured chairs, tables and numerous other pieces of garden furniture.
Tubing
Melos compounds are characterized by their excellent resistance and great flexibility over a large range of temperatures. This makes them ideal for the manufacture of tubing. What's more: Absolutely every desired colour can be produced!
