The story of Melos GmbH began in 1930 with the recycling of rubber from salvaged tyres.

1936: The beginning of our success story
- Founding of Melos Carl Bösch GmbH
- Originated from the rubber products factory Worthmann & C. Bösch
- Melle and Osnabrück sites
- Commissioning of a regeneration plant for recycling rubber from rubber waste

1970: First major expansion
• Expansion of production areas
• Manufacture of EPDM granulates and cable compounds

1998: The takeover
Sale of Melos Carl Bösch GmbH & Co. to the American corporation M.A. Hanna

1999: Expansion of the Melle site
M.A. Hanna is investing approximately DM 18 million in new production facilities and a development and application centre for the Cable compounds business segment.

2004: Independence from corporate group
2006: Part of Sport Group
Melos becomes independent from corporate group in 2004, before Melos, Unirubber and Polytan are merged to form the Sport Group in 2006.

2007: Capacity expansions and new recycling products
Expansion of production capacities and focus on the recycling sector

2008: The expansion
Expansion of logistics space to 14,700 m², total space for production and administration: 38,000 m², expansion of the STS production hall, increase in production capacity by a further 14,000 tonnes/year

2016: Long-term economic stability
• More than €86 million in turnover
• 200 employees
• Operating area: 48,000 square metres

2017: New showroom - Melos Village
Open-air showroom on a 1700 m² roof area with a running track, fitness and multifunctional areas, playground areas and fall protection, sports artificial turf with infill granules and decorative artificial turf

2018: Competence Center
New building with transition to the villa, creating an additional 560 m² of storage space, 1,000 m² of laboratory space and approx. 200 m² of office space

2019: New approach - Creating living spaces
Melos accompanies transformation processes and designs the digital space of tomorrow.
Innovative products: Stylemaker®, Turfrob®, 3D printing, Polycomp industrial coatings, interactive LED floors
